Prejudice

We all know that it is wrong. Yet sometimes the prejudice remarks just wont stop from coming up to the surface. I mean, sometimes, it is extremely difficult to stop certain thoughts from entering the min. for example, when a stranger covered in tattoos and piercings walks down the street, one has the natural urge to assume that they are a ‘bad ass’… When for all we know, the person could be really sweet. (But let’s be honest… what are the odds??)

In the same way, you see a Muslim woman in a veil and assume that she is being oppressed and forced to wear it by her incredibly backwards husband or father; where in fact she wears it out of choice. Prejudice assumptions usually get you nowhere. Its all about pre conceived ideologies that have been fabricated by previous generations.

The definition of Prejudice is as shown in the link:

It’s unfair to all the people that we judge. As well as unfair to ourselves, we presume that we know what a certain group of people are like before deciding whether or not we use enough to make mistakes an learn from them. Isn’t that the best way to do things? That way we have first hand experience and wont have to rely on some dead persons opinion.
